Computers

Computer terminals with Internet access in the library are designated for research purposes only. Recreational gaming and surfing are not permitted. Limited use of e-mail and word processing are available on an emergency basis. The Library retains the right to limit a user's time on its computer terminals. Users accessing the Internet must abide by the College's Appropriate Use Policies. Failure to abide by these computing guidelines will result in the loss of Library computer privileges.

Photocopying & Printing

A photocopier is available for general use. A printer is connected to the public computers in the library for printing electronic resources. PHC Students have the option of printing to the library’s public printer from their computers. Campus-wide policies apply. Community users will be charged $0.05 for each copy or print.

The Library adheres to all applicable U.S. copyright laws. The user is responsible for complying with these statutes.

Conference/Group Study Room

The Library conference room is equipped with conference table, presentation board, and network connections.

The Conference/Group Study Room in the PHC Library is available to both individuals and groups. Individuals may use it on a first-come, first-served basis. Groups may reserve the room for a designated time. To make reservations, contact Office of Campus Administration (administration@phc.edu).

Media Room

The library media room has a microprint reader, a microfiche/microfilm reader/printer, and two TV/VCR's. Remotes and headphones for the TV/VCR's may be checked-out at the circulation desk. Also, an audio tape player may be checked out at the circulation desk for use in the media room.

Materials Requests

Users may request that the PHC Library add an item to its collections by filling out the online recommendation form. All requests are subject to the guidelines found in the PHC Library Collection Development Policy.

Challenged Materials

Occasionally, a user may question why the Library owns a particular item. Questions or complaints should be submitted to the Director of the Library. Formal complaints must be submitted in writing using the Challenged Materials form. This form is available at the Circulation counter.
