Abraham Lincoln Scholarship

Awarded to students who demonstrate outstanding commitment to principled leadership as evidenced by application materials.

William A. Wilberforce Scholarship

Awarded to students who have demonstrated the ability to remain true to their convictions and to inspire others to live courageously as evidenced by application materials.

J.S. Bach Musical Scholarship

Awarded to student who have demonstrated outstanding musical preparation and potential to become musical leaders in one of the College's many musical organizations as evidenced by application  materials and an audition.

Epaphras Church Leadership Scholarship

Awarded to students who have shown committed involvement in the service and leadership of their local church as evidenced by application materials.

SCHOLARSHIP

Patrick Henry Scholarship

Academic merit scholarship awarded on the basis of a combination of the quality of the application materials and standardized test scores. The threshold for consideration for this award is an SAT score of 1340 or ACT score of 30.

No maximum, awarded to all qualifying students.

 4 years $1,000 to $10,000 If a student's cumulative GPA drops below that required for Renewability (as shown in the award letter), the award will be reduced on a graduated schedule.

   FACULTY-AWARDED SCHOLARSHIPS

Noah Webster CLA Scholarship

Awarded to a meritorious student intending to major in Classical Liberal Arts who has an aptitude and desire to influence the youth of our society for Christ by teaching in a home school, classical Christian school, or in other venues, or writing curricula. Preference will be given to those who have been using their teaching gifts in church, home schooling, or tutoring.

Publius Government Scholarship

Awarded to meritorious students intending to major in Government. Preference will be given to those who have a demonstrated commitment to the field. Examples of commitment include, but are not limited to: volunteering on campaigns, extensive writing and research on government, or other related experience.

Herodotus History Scholarship

Awarded to a meritorious student intending to major in History. Students desiring to be considered for this award must, as part of their application for admission, submit an education sample of an essay or research paper on a historical topic or person.

Nathaniel Willis Journalism Scholarship

Awarded to a meritorious student intending to major in Journalism. Preference will be given to students with a demonstrated interest and past experience in journalism whose application materials, including essays and writing samples, show significant potential.

C.S. Lewis Literature Scholarship

Awarded to a meritorious student intending to major in Literature. Students desiring to be considered for this award must, as part of their application for admission, submit an education sample of an essay or research paper on a literary topic.

Luke 3:1 Journalism Scholarship

Luke 1:3 “…I myself have carefully investigated everything from the beginning, it seemed good also to me to write an orderly account for you.” (NIV)

Awarded to a meritorious student intending to major in Journalism who has demonstrated exceptional potential and outstanding preparation for a career as a journalist.
Requirements to be considered for the scholarship:
  1. SAT score of at least 1250 or an ACT score of 28
    (SAT scores represent a combination of an applicant’s Critical Reading and Math scores.)
  2. A short essay describing your interest in journalism and how PHC’s journalism program would help you achieve your career goals.
  3. Two letters of recommendation from an employer, supervisor, or mentor addressing your potential as a journalist.
  4. A résumé focusing on journalistic experience and journalism-related skills.
    A feature story or news story of at least 1,000 words (may be published or unpublished)
  • Clips of published articles (optional item)
  • Samples of news-related multimedia work, such as videos, podcasts, photos, or web pages submitted on CD or DVD (optional item)

Leonidas Classical Language Scholarship

Awarded to a meritorious student who has demonstrated excellence in preparation for the study of Latin and/or Greek and who intends to further that study through applicable courses at PHC.

   DEBATE SCHOLARSHIPS

Frederick Douglass Debate Scholarship

Significant achievement in a onon NCFCA national-level debate competition.

3 Scholarships Available

 4 years Up to $8,000 Leadership and participation in PHC debate and cumulative GPA of 3.2
 Samuel Adams Debate Scholarship

1st Place winner in the NCFCA National Championship Tournament in the categories of Lincoln Douglas or Team Policy Debate.

3 Scholarships Available

 4 years Up to $8,000 Leadership and participation in PHC debate and cumulative GPA of 3.2
James Madison Debate Scholarship

2nd Place finisher in NCFCA National Championship Debate Tournament in the categories of Lincoln Douglas or Team Policy Debate.

 4 years Up to $5,000 Participation and good standing with the PHC debate team and cumulative GPA of 3.0
Daniel Webster Debate Scholarship

Significant achievement in NCFCA National Championship Tournament debate.

John Jay Debate Scholarship

Participant in NCFCA National Championship Tournament.

 Esther Scholarship

Student with demonstrated need as evidenced by the PROFILE report who is an orphan or the dependent of a single parent who is a widow or widower.
