Play Synopsis

A sinister con man, Roat, and two ex-convicts, Mike and Carlino, have traced the location of a mysterious doll, which interests them greatly, to the Greenwich Village apartment of Sam Hendrix and his blind wife, Susy. Sam had inherited the doll from a strange woman in Canada, who convinced him to transport it across the border. Unbeknownst to him, sewn inside were several grams of heroin. When the woman is murdered, the con man and his accomplices step in. Through a cleverly constructed deception, they isolate Suzy and convince her that the police have implicated Sam in the woman's murder, and that the doll, which she believes is the key to his innocence, is evidence. She refuses to reveal its location. She and a young neighbor together discover the deception and face an adventure more harrowing than any they could have wished.
